Intrusive vs. Non-Intrusive

Intrusive scan performs in-depth checking on potential vulnerabilities and in some cases can cause a system to crash or reboot, affecting the availability for its users.

Non-Intrusive scans are set to provide a glimpse at a system, preventing the scanner from affecting performance of the system being scanned.

Intrusive try to exploit information.

Non-Intrusive gather information but don’t exploit it.
